JKSSB Naib Tehsildar Syllabus 2025 – Overview

Descriptive Test

Candidates who qualify in the written exam will be called for a Descriptive Test, which is of qualifying nature (marks are not added to the final merit but must be cleared).

The Descriptive Test is divided into two sections:

1. Reading Section – 20 Marks

• Candidates will have to answer 20 comprehension-based questions

• Each question carries 1 mark

• Total Marks: 20

2. Writing Section – 30 Marks

• This section tests the candidate’s writing ability in English

• Topics may include essay writing, letter/application writing, or short paragraph writing

• Total Marks: 30

JKSSB Naib Tehsildar Qualifying Marks Criteria

Paper-I (Objective Type Written Exam)

• Open Merit (OM) candidates must score at least 20% marks to qualify.

• Reserved category candidates (SC/ST/OBC/PwD, etc.) must score at least 15% marks to move to the next stage.

Paper-II (Descriptive Test – Qualifying Nature)

• OM candidates must score a minimum of 40% marks overall.

• Reserved category candidates must score at least 35% marks,
  with at least 33% marks in both the Reading and Writing sections individually.
